Stain Removal & Color Restoration

What’s the difference: Stain Removal vs Color Restoration

Stain removal applies when food or beverages fall onto the carpet or fabric and add their color to the fibers. Think of spills like wine, urine, Gatorade, coffee, paint, or other colored substances. These add pigments or dyes to the fibers, changing their color. Stain removal is the process of breaking down the stain to lighten it or remove it completely.

Color restoration (spot dyeing) is needed when the fabric has lost color, usually because of bleach or cleaning chemicals. Bleach actually takes the dye out of the fibers, leaving a lighter or faded spot. To the eye, this looks like a stain because the overall color has changed when part of the dye was removed. Since the original color is gone, we can’t just “remove” the bleach — instead, we neutralize the bleaching agent and add the missing color back in so it blends with the rest of the fibers.

Please note, the pricing on the scheduling form may change depending on the severity and difficulty of the stain, along with how sensitive the material we are working with is.
