OUR STEAM CARPET CLEANING PROCESS

1. PRE TREATMENT
2. POWER SCRUB
3. STEAM CLEANING
4. DEODORIZING

Our steam carpet cleaning is performed using enviro safe, non-toxic (see FAQ) solutions that combine encapsulation and extraction for a superior clean. Using a 4-step process we guarantee you will love our steam cleans everytime.

Before cleaning, we apply a pretreatment solution to the carpet. The pretreatment attracts and encapsulates soil particles in the carpet.

Secondly, for heavily soiled carpet, we utilize a bonnet scrubber to agitate the carpet fibers to loosen soil particles. The loosened soil particles become encansulated by the pretreatment, improving the quality of the steam carpet cleaning.

The Steam carpet cleaning is performed using a detergent formulated to bond and extract the pretreatment solution we applied initially. When the pretreatment is extracted it brings with it the soil particles that it trapped from the carpet. The steam cleaning should extract all the pretreatment solution.

Finally, the carpet is deodorized, at no extra charge, leaving your carpet with a clean, fresh scent.

STEAM CARPET CLEANING DIFFERENT FIBER TYPES

There are six commonly used carpet fibers for wall to wall carpets: Nylon, Polyester, Acrilic, Nylon and Polyester blends, and wool. Area rugs come in eight different carpet fiber types; in addition to the six aformentioned carpet fibers, area rugs are also manufactured using cotton and silk.

Of the eight fiber types mentioned, wool, silk, and cotton require cool water, specific chemical solutions, and special care when cleaning. Nylon, polyester and acrilic are commonly cleaned using the same chemical solutions and require hot water for best results.

Polyester and acrilic have some natural advantages over Nylon in that they are naturally stain and moisture resistant because they are made of sythetic polymers, which is a fancy word for plastic. A disadantage is that polyester holds onto oils– which we normally carry indoor from outside on our shoes- more so than nylon would. And as we know, oil collects soil. So in effect, polyester requires more work to clean, and also yields a lesser quality result after steam carpet cleaning. This is overcome by using a rotary or bonnet scrubber when cleaning heavily soiled polyester carpets.

Nylon is the esieast to clean, and usually tends to look better than polyester and acrylic carpets after steam cleaning. Nowadays manufactures also make nylon stain and moisture resistant, but it’s not a natural property and so it will fade. A scotchguard protection can be used to give nylon carpets this stain and moisture resistance as well.
